Almost no deadline in a purchase contract is a date. It is a number of days from a reference point, which is why moving one moves six others.

What a two-week closing delay actually costs
Everyone treats a slipped closing as an inconvenience. Priced out, a delay across a year boundary can cost more than the deal's entire transaction fee, and a December slip is the expensive one.

One date moves and six deadlines move with it
Contingency deadlines are computed from the contract date, not chosen. Move the anchor by two days and every downstream date moves with it, except the one that counts backwards.
