How do I set up my workspace?

Last updated Aug 25, 2026

Settings has seven sections, and only two of them change a number before you have typed anything. Get those two right early; the rest can wait until the day you actually need them.

Steps

  1. Open Settings from the main navigation.

    Fictional workspace: synthetic settings.
The Settings page header, for profile, branding, and integrations.
  2. Find Transaction Defaults in the left rail, then open it.

    Fictional workspace: synthetic settings.
The Settings page's left rail, listing Profile, Branding, Transaction Defaults, App, Usage, Data, and Integrations.
  3. Under Financial Defaults, set your default Commission Percentage (or switch Commission Input Mode to Flat Fee if that is how you are usually paid), your default Admin Fee, and your default Referral Fee %. Every new transaction you create starts with these three values already filled in, on its Financials tab; they do not touch a transaction you already created, and they never get pulled in from somewhere else afterward.

  4. If you are on eXp, go to Profile and find the eXp Commission Settings card. Set your Agent's Team Split, Company Dollar Cap, and Company Split to match your actual agreement, plus the transaction review fee, risk management fee, and capped-status fee amounts eXp charges you. This is the model KeyFlow's own commission math runs on for every closed deal, so a default left at the wrong number quietly under- or overstates every net figure you see afterward, not just the one deal you happen to be checking.

  5. Still on Profile, if you are the workspace owner, set your eXp Anniversary Date. It is what your capping-period reset date is calculated from.

  6. Leave Branding, App, Usage, Data, and Integrations for whenever you actually need them. Branding is your logo and colors on client-facing pages. Data holds your CSV import and export. Integrations is where you connect Google. None of the three changes a number.

What you should see

Every field on Transaction Defaults and the eXp Commission Settings card autosaves as you leave the field; a small status indicator near each section header confirms the save. Start a new transaction after saving, and the Financials tab already carries your defaults instead of opening blank.

When it doesn't work

  • A saved default is not showing up on a transaction you already created. Defaults only apply going forward; a transaction that existed before you changed a default keeps whatever it already had.
  • The eXp Commission Settings card is not what you expected to see. It configures eXp Realty's fee structure specifically, transaction review fee, risk management fee, and the capped-status transaction fee among them. If your brokerage prices deals differently, use the Financial Defaults commission and admin-fee fields on Transaction Defaults instead, and leave the eXp-specific fields at their defaults.
