What is a Team Workspace, and what is a TAW?

Last updated Aug 25, 2026

Your Team Workspace is the one set of transactions, clients, and templates every member you invite shares with you. A Team Agent Workspace (TAW) is different: it gives one agent an entirely separate workspace of their own, with its own transactions and clients, linked back to your team only by a commission split and a set of shared templates.

Steps

  1. Invite a member from Manage Team when you want them working inside your own files: the same deals, the same clients, the same templates, no separate workspace created.
  2. Invite a team agent instead when you want to give someone their own book of business under your team's name. Accepting creates a brand-new workspace for them, on the plan tier you chose, with its own transactions and clients that your existing members do not see by default.
  3. Set the team agent's commission split from the Team agent workspaces tab: the percentage they keep, with the remainder posted back to your Team Workspace as income. Only you can change that percentage; it is not something the team agent sets from their own workspace.
  4. Choose what the TAW inherits from your team, per resource: email templates and checklist templates can each be turned on or off independently. What is turned on is read-only for the agent, so the team keeps one source of truth for its templates instead of each TAW drifting its own copy.

What you should see

A TAW behaves like its own workspace day to day, its own dashboard, its own transaction list, its own clients, while its commission split and any inherited templates stay tied to yours.

What the team lead can and cannot see

This is the part worth getting right, because the two directions are not symmetric.

  • You can see everything inside a TAW you own. As the Team Workspace owner or a member of it, you have the same read and write access to a TAW's transactions, clients, and financial records that the team agent themselves has. A TAW is not a private workspace from your point of view; it is closer to a scoped section of your team's book of business that happens to have its own agent running it.
  • A team agent cannot see your Team Workspace's other TAWs, or your own deals, beyond the templates you have chosen to share with them. Their view is limited to their own workspace plus whatever email and checklist templates you turned on for them.

When it doesn't work

  • A team agent reports they cannot edit a template you would expect them to. Inherited templates are read-only for the agent by design; changes to a shared template have to be made from the Team Workspace side, by you.
  • You cannot find a specific deal you expected in your own transaction list. If it belongs to a team agent's TAW rather than your own workspace, look for it from the Team agent workspaces tab instead; it will not appear mixed into your own list.
