What do I do when the contract reader gets a field wrong?
Last updated Aug 25, 2026
Correct it the same way you would type it yourself: click into the field on the Details tab and change the value. Extraction only writes to the tab once, when you click Apply to Form, so nothing keeps checking the PDF afterward and a correction you make stays made.
Steps
Open the transaction and go to the Details tab. If you just ran an extraction, you are already there, since Contract details and Key dates only appear once a deal is under contract.
Find the wrong value under Contract details or Key dates.
Fictional workspace: synthetic contract. Click into the field and correct it. A text or currency field, Sale Price, Earnest Money Amount, or Seller Concessions, takes the new value on its own; nothing else on the form moves. A dropdown field, Home Warranty, Title Insurance, Proration Period, or Earnest Money Holder, takes a reselect instead of a retype.
If the wrong field is Contract Date or Closing Date, know before you touch it that other fields are computed from it, not independent of it. Contract Date is the anchor for Earnest Money Due, Inspection Objections Due, Consideration Period Due, Settlement Period Due, Homeowners Insurance Due, and Intent to Proceed, each one worked out from the day count entered next to it. Closing Date is the anchor for Clear to Close, always three days earlier. Correct the anchor and every date chained to it recalculates when you save; you do not have to fix six dates by hand for one wrong one.
If an item landed in the wrong list, remove it from Items included or Items excluded and add it to the other one. The two lists cannot share an item, so adding it to the correct list removes any matching entry from the wrong one automatically.
Click Save.
What you should see
The field you corrected, showing the new value, and if you changed Contract Date or Closing Date, every date that depends on it updated beside it without a separate edit.
